Today I come to explain and show you one of the main components of any computer, PC... etc. (not to mention that it is the main component of any technological device) RAM or rather (Random Access Memory).

What is a RAM?

RAM or without abbreviation Random Access Memory it is the short-term memory of a computer, where the data that the processor is using at that moment is stored. Your computer can access RAM much faster than data from a hard drive, SSD, or other long-term storage device, so RAM capacity is critical to system performance.

All computing devices have RAM, whether it's a desktop computer (running Windows, MacOS or Linux), a tablet or smartphone (running Android or iOS), or even an  smart TV . Almost all computers also have a way of storing information for long-term access. But the memory needed to run the process you are currently working on is stored and accessed in your computer's RAM.

What is it for?

To understand RAM, let's use the analogy of a physical desktop. Your workspace is the top of the desk. That's where you keep everything you use frequently within easy reach, so you don't waste time searching through your drawers. On the contrary, everything that you don't use as much or that you want to save for later goes in a desk drawer.
In short, it is the short-term memory of the computer. Its main function is to remember the information you have in each of the applications open on the computer, while it is on. This short-term memory only works when the computer is turned on.

How does it work?

RAM memory is responsible for collecting data from the programs that the device is processing when it is turned on. In other words, it is responsible for managing the use of programs, data and the information they provide, thus creating an immediate database.
